Inxpect LBK Sensor
LBK is a SIL2 certified safety radar system that creates a 3D virtual safety zone to control access and prevent machines from starting in the presence of humans.
Plus, they work where optical sensors fail! The majority of optical devices often fail in the presence of dust, smoke, water or chips generated by production processes. This technology developed by Inxpect is able to filter these types of disturbances in order to reduce false alarms and thus increase productivity. It is also not necessary to have a perfect alignment between the sensors. The software supplied with the system allows multiple configurations: automatic assisted configuration for regularly shaped zones and manual configuration for monitoring more complex zones. Programmable inhibition allows the creation of differentiated intervention zones where operators can access in complete safety according to the production logic.
Each LBK sensor can create a configurable virtual barrier that delimits an alarm zone and a pre-alarm zone, providing a secure signal that can slow down or stop the machine.
The system can detect operator micro-movements and prevent machine restart, thus ensuring total operator safety.
The controller manages the states of all sensors, including the muting function, which is used to temporarily disable certain sensors when they are not required to detect movement in the area. When properly configured, the muting function allows operators to temporarily access non-hazardous areas.
3D SAFETY ZONE CONFIGURATOR
The Inxpect Safety app can be used to configure alarm and pre-alarm zones in 3D, and to create optimal coverage of the hazardous area using different beam angles from the sensors, which is then validated by the software a once the system is physically installed.
System response time is less than 100ms, minimizing the area required to protect the machine.
